Overview
Remediation work on high availability that had stopped being available — failed Hyper-V virtual switches restored, iSCSI storage paths diagnosed, and clustering brought back to a state that actually fails over.
Technical challenge
High availability that has never been exercised is an assumption, not a capability. Virtual switch failures and iSCSI path problems had to be diagnosed on live infrastructure without extending the outage.
Architecture
- 01Hyper-V virtual switch configuration restored so cluster networking behaves predictably.
- 02iSCSI initiator and target paths traced end to end to storage presentation.
- 03Failover clustering validated so the high availability layer performs as designed.
Implementation
- Remediated high availability configuration on virtualized infrastructure.
- Recovered failed Hyper-V virtual switches.
- Troubleshot iSCSI storage connectivity and path presentation.
- Restored resilient operation of affected workloads.
Outcome
Affected workloads returned to a resilient, verified high availability configuration.
