Overview
A Windows Server environment built from scratch — Active Directory Domain Services, multi-site replication, DNS and DHCP — forming the identity and core services layer for a distributed organisation.
Technical challenge
A new environment needed identity and name resolution that worked the same way at every site, with replication designed for the links between them rather than assumed to be a single LAN.
Architecture
- 01Active Directory Domain Services as the identity foundation of the environment.
- 02Multi-site replication topology reflecting the physical site layout.
- 03DNS designed alongside the directory so name resolution and replication stay consistent.
- 04DHCP scoped per site and aligned to the VLAN segmentation model.
Implementation
- Built the Windows Server infrastructure from scratch.
- Deployed Active Directory Domain Services and the domain structure.
- Configured multi-site Active Directory replication.
- Deployed and configured DNS and DHCP as core network services.
Outcome
A greenfield directory and core services layer serving multiple sites from a consistent, replicated identity foundation.
